Staffordshire Subsidised Bus Review Consultation

In February 2016 a decision was taken by Staffordshire County Council to review the budget for subsidised bus travel.

There are four options on how the smaller £1.3m bus subsidy could be spent.

We have just had notification that there will be a series of events to discuss the proposals with the developers to build the 'freight hub' at Four Ashes:

Tuesday 11 July from 3pm to 8pm at Calf Heath Village Hall, Straight Mile Calf Heath

Wednesday 12 July from 2pm to 7pm at Brewood Jubilee Hall

Thursday 20 July from 3pm to 8pm at the Haling Dene Centre Penkridge

Friday 21 July from 2pm to 7pm at Calf Heath Village Hall, Straight Mile, Calf Heath

Saturday 22 July from 10am to 2pm at Coven Memorial Hall

Become a Magistrate in Staffordshire

Twenty new magistrates are needed for the Staffordshire Bench.
You do not need legal training or formal qualifications to become a magistrate and we are looking for applications from across the county and from all sections of the community.
Magistrates are not paid (although some allowances can beclaimed), and must be able to attend training and sit in court forat least 13 days a year.
Anyone between 18 and 65 may apply. Applications areparticularly welcome from members of Black and Minority Ethnic communities, people under the age of 50, people in paid employment, and people with a disability who are able, either unassisted or with the benefit of reasonable adjustments, to carry out the full range of a magistrate’s duties. Royal Ordinance Factory Featherstone

Public consultation will soon begin on the future of the site of the Royal Ordinance Factory at Featherstone. The site offers the potential for 2,500 jobs. Consultation on the options to improve the road network will be taking place on:

24 January between 14.00 and 20.00 at Greenfields Golf Club, Cat and Kittens Lane, Featherstone WV10 7JB and

31 January between 14.00 and 20.00 at Featherstone Community Centre, Baneberry Drive, Featherstone, WV10 7TR. The consultation period ends on 12 February 2017.
