West Midlands Interchange Proposals

Proposals for a new strategic rail freight interchange near juntcion 12 of the M6 at Four Ashes were announced in June 2016. The planned development has received strong opposition from many local residents. Brewood and Coven Parish Council has resolved to wait until Stage 2 of the process before formally commenting. The Parish Council has however resolved to join with other local parish councils to share information.

Consultation on stage 1 closed on 24 July. Stage 2 consultations will begin in February 2017.

Proposed one-way system Brewood

Proposals have been received to introduce a one-way sytem in Brewood. The one-way system will travel from east to west along Newport Street from its junction with Market Place, terminating prior to the junction with School Road.

Staffordshire County Council slightly amended the proposals following comments received from local residents, and extended the consultation period by one week, therefore consultation on the one-way system ended on 4 December.
