Social club of the Royal British Legion

Brewood & District branch of the Royal British Legion was formed on 11th November 1929. The branch H.Q. and Social Club was built and opened in 1963 on the present site. Membership at 1st January 2005 in excess of 200. Branch meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month. Club meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month. Ladies section also meets monthly.

The Swan is currently managed by Rob and Steph Burns and started its life as a farmhouse, before becoming a coaching inn, with stabling for 32 horses. It brewed its own beer, having a small well in the rear. It was also the first fire station in Brewood. It is frequently listed in the Campaign for Real Ale's Good Pub Guide.  The Swan is a traditional crook building built between the 14th and 16th centuries.
